2025 is the 200th anniversary of the birth of the modern railway and we will be joined by Richard Bentley, Railway Operations Manager for the Watercress Line.
The Watercress Line is a heritage railway offering a scenic, family-friendly experience through the Hampshire countryside, showcasing historic steam and diesel locomotives, local history, and a commitment to preservation and education.
Richard will give insights into how the railway started, how it is run today and the inside story on the extremely popular Steam Illuminations Christmas Lights train.
It promises to be a really topical and interesting talk.
